Introduction

Our trees grow in the fertile soils located in the heart of the Hood River Valley, Oregon, at the base of beautiful Mt. Hood. We grow the colossal variety of chestnuts, which is a Japanese-European grafted hybrid. These chestnuts were not only developed for their superior size but also for their sweetness and ease of peeling. The nuts themselves are about 2 - 3 inches in diameter and will average 18-23 nuts to the pound. They are harvested in late September through October and kept in cold storage until they are sold. The first chestnut trees were planted in 1994. Additional acres were planted in 1995 across Neal Creek that separates our farm acreage.
